1. Tennessee Titans (1-0)

Week 1 ranking: No. 1 (No change)

I got some flack for giving the Titans the No. 1 spot in the AFC South going into the season, but I did so for good reason: the Titans are the most complete team in this division, and they proved that on Sunday.

You could count on one hand the amount of experts who actually picked the Titans to defeat the Cleveland Browns. Thankfully, what the experts think means jack, because the Titans not only went into Cleveland and beat the Browns, they destroyed them in every facet of the game.

That dangerous Browns offense with all of its shiny toys? Shut down.

That vicious Browns pass-rush that was going to kill quarterback Marcus Mariota without Taylor Lewan playing? Kept in check.

The Titans did everything necessary to beat the Browns in Week 1, and then some. It was a complete team performance from top to bottom that led to the Titans winning by 30 points and shocking the vast majority of the football world that had the Browns winning easily, despite knowing nothing about how good this Titans team is.

Unlike their AFC South counterparts, the Titans came out of Week 1 smelling like a rose, with no injuries to speak of. Their defense looks like it could be championship-caliber, and it’s confirmed that Mariota has a slew of weapons on offense that could lead to his best season yet.

The Titans will have a divisional matchup with a dangerous Colts team in Week 2. The opportunity for Tennessee to start separating itself from the rest of its division mates starts then.
