Final thoughts

When you break down the numbers and add all this up this is what you get (the lowest number is the best):

1. Tennessee Titans: 12 points

T-2. Jacksonville Jaguars: 19 points

T-2. Houston Texans: 19 points

4. Indianapolis Colts: 20 points

More from Titans News

The league is driven by the QB position and by matchups, but just in terms of who has the most talented overall roster the Titans are the clear winners.

Sure, you are going to hear the narratives the the offense of the Houston Texans or the defense of the Jacksonville Jaguars make them the favorite to win the division, but both have huge red flags on both sides of the ball.

The Texans are setting Watson to be sacked nearly 130 times in just two and a half seasons of play even with the upgrade at left tackle. With the Titans set to play them twice in the last three weeks, it is fair to assume that Tennessee will see the most banged up version of Watson which isn’t great news for the Texans playoff push.

Indianapolis is dealing with a locker room that has to feel utterly defeated and a coaching staff and QB that now go into the season with very limited exposure to one another.

Finally the Jacksonville Jaguars are trusting Nick Foles to play like he did for the Philadelphia Eagles during their playoff run when they haven’t surrounded him with an Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz or an elite offensive line. And they have to be crossing their fingers that the locker room doesn’t turn on Foles if they start the season slow with guys like Ngakoue and Ramsey already mad they aren’t getting paid.

With the most talented roster and a clear path to the division crown in sight, expectations should be high for the Titans.
