Tennessee Titans fans now have another thing to watch vs Chicago Bears.

The Tennessee Titans are in a strange spot with Derrick Henry after being injured in his first practice of training camp.

On one hand, you always want to knock off any sort of rust a player may have before the games actually matter. That is the whole point behind the preseason whether or not you agree with how many games they play or how seriously they take it.

That suggests that you would want guys like Henry to get out there and knock some guys over before you have to go against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1.

Apparently Mike Vrabel is leaning towards that way if Henry is completely healthy:

On the other hand, the obviously the downside is that every snap in the preseason is a chance for a starter to get hurt.

You hate to say it out loud, but things like that happen every year no matter how conservative you are. Look no further than Lamar Miller for the Houston Texans who tore his ACL on his first and only carry of the preseason this past weekend.

More from Titan Sized

All of the sudden you lose a Pro Bowl running back and a guy you were really counting on, all to make sure that he was 100% ready instead of 90% ready.

It is so tough to quantify the risks and rewards of the preseason, but I think ultimately you have to be smart while also knowing that you can’t play or coach scared.

For fantasy football and Tennessee Titans fans, this look at Derrick Henry could and probably will be analyzed over and over to try to figure out exactly how well he is going to fit this offense.

Obviously he played in it last year, but Arthur Smith’s style seems a lot closer to Sean McVay than what Matt LaFleur was doing. There is a lot more outside zone and play action which means that running backs have to do some nuanced things differently.

Also, will the Titans try to shift him out to WR like they did with Jeremy McNichols? Or is his role going to be unique compared to what Dion Lewis and McNichols do?

These are all questions that should be very interesting to watch on Thursday if Derrick Henry does play.
