Tennessee Titans may be getting their most interesting pass rusher back for Thursday.

Harold Landry is one of the Tennessee Titans most important and promising young players.

So obviously when he was sidelined with a mystery injury last week people lost their mind and was freaking out about whether he was going to miss one practice or miss a month of the regular season.

Luckily, Harold Landry’s injury didn’t look to be too serious and it was even reported that he was back at practice today.

This is great news, but what makes it even more interesting is that yesterday I talked about how practicing today could lead to some in game reps for Landry on Thursday vs the Chicago Bears:

"It sounds like [Vrabel] wants [Landry] to get some live action before the real games start. The Chicago Bears are a great team for him to shake off some rust with Chase Daniels being sacked second most among all QBs this preseason.According to Pro Football focus, the three tackles that Harold Landry is most likely to square up against are T.J. Clemmings, Rashaad Coward and Cornelius Lucas. Those three have allowed a combined 4 sacks and 12 pressures on 170 pass snaps so about half as frequently as Austin Pasztor."

A sack in the preseason would do a lot to easy the mind of Tennessee Titans fans who are rightfully nervous about an anemic pass rush right now.

Cameron Wake has shown some flashes and Sharif Finch has been fine, but what this team really lacks is someone who can bend around the edge and get to the QB quickly. That is exactly Harold Landry’s M.O. and it would be huge to see that play out in the preseason.

Like I said, going up against average tackles after not really playing since last year could be more difficult than it looks on paper which is why this needs to happen now and not Week 1 vs the Cleveland Browns.

The weakest point on the Brown roster is their offensive line and maybe some suspect LB/S play, but the quickest way to shake the confidence of a QB is to get to him quickly. Landry is a key piece in getting that done so while health is the top priority of the preseason, getting into form vs the Bears is a close second.
