Carlos Dunlap, EDGE

I don’t really know what the Cincinnati Bengals are doing. They recently benched 2018 first round pick Billy Price in favor of 2014 UDFA Trey Hopkins.

They aren’t intentionally trying to tank or anything like that, but I think they are trying to look at their roster with new eyes.

Carlos Dunlap has been fantastic, but with A.J. Green hurt I think Dunlap becomes their most tradeable asset. Guys like Carl Lawson have earned a chance at the starting roster and new HC Zac Taylor has to be interested in seeing what they can do.

I have covered why Dunlap should be a trade target in the past, but one of my biggest takeaways was this:

"Since 2013, Dunlap has missed just 1 of 96 games during that stretch. Not only is he consistently ready to play, but over that time he has ranged from 7.5-8 sacks in every single season except in 2015 where he had 13.5."

I mean wow, talk about consistency. If you could pencil in 7.5 sacks from Dunlap, 10 sacks from Landry and 6 sacks from Cameron Wake (as a rotational pass rusher)  you now have 23.5 sacks from a position that gave you 6 last year between Derrick Morgan, Brian Orakpo and Harold Landry.

The Bengals need to reset their roster and restart in 2020 with a franchise QB, failing this year could be great in the long run for them. Meanwhile, the Titans have a chance to really capitalize on an AFC South that just got cracked wide open.

Make this deal happen.
