Carlos Dunlap, Cincinnati Bengals

Career stats (134 games): 72.5 sacks, 88 TFLs

There hasn’t been a more steady player in recent history that has gotten less publicity than Carlos Dunlap, at least at the EDGE position.

Since 2013, Dunlap has missed just 1 of 96 games during that stretch. Not only is he consistently ready to play, but over that time he has ranged from 7.5-8 sacks in every single season except in 2015 where he had 13.5.

That is a really strange stretch of being the same guy day in and day out. He is a very good but not great EDGE and for the Cincinnati Bengals, it really looks like they are on the verge of a complete rebuild.

A.J. Green is hurt and is going to be a free agent at the end of the season, Zac Taylor is the new HC and is about to see what a season with Andy Dalton is really like, and the offensive line is made up of Cordy Glenn and a lot of players who don’t really need to be starting in the NFL.

With a potential top-3 pick coming in the 2020 NFL Draft, what is the best way to maximize a 30 year old EDGE? Trade him.

Trade him to the Titans and let the investments you made in Sam Hubbard and Carl Lawson pan out on the field. In the mean time you clear some cap space if you want to keep A.J. Green for your rookie QB in 2020.
