Tennessee Titans running back and fantasy football stud Derrick Henry is back.

According to multiple reports, Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry is back at practice.

This is great news for the Titans because as good as Jeremy McNichols has looked in practice and in the preseason, there is no clue that this team’s rushing attack will be led by Derrick Henry and to a lesser extent Dion Lewis.

I wrote this in my article projecting the Tennessee Titans starters on offense:

"However, neither come close to offering the homerun threat that Henry does when he is in the backfield. With improved blocking on the offensive line there will be a lot more chances to pop some of those big runs that have made so many highlight reels. Rodger Saffold‘s ability to get to the next level is truly outstanding and it is going to open up a lot of cutbacks that force DBs to try to track down Derrick Henry before he can build up enough speed to become unstoppable."

There is a massive gap in potential between the other backs on the Titans roster and Henry. While I haven’t always been his biggest fan because of consistency issues and I wish he would run harder up the middle, I have always said that he is close to Chris Johnson in his ability to take a 5-yard run and turn it into a 60+ yard TD.

More from Titan Sized

The Titans have more explosion on the offense this year than they did in 2018, but it never hurts to have another weapon for teams to deal with.

If Henry can pick up where he left off in December then the Titans offensive explosion will be the story of September.

While he reportedly only went through stretches and individual drills, that is very similar to how both Jurrell Casey and A.J. Brown returned to practice once fully recovered. I would guess that it is a stretch for him to play this week, but it does help that the Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers don’t play until Sunday night, the latest possible date.

I’m not sure if I would test him in that game, but the possibility is there and it makes another Titans player who is back from injury today.
