Winner: Arthur Smith, OC

We saw a lot from Smith tonight that I loved:

1. Motion players coming across formation during the snap and using that natural traffic to get open in space.

2. Max protect play action passes that could have popped big.

3. Sift blocks from the tight end that should open things up with the starters in.

4. Elements of read option plays and designs to get the quarterback out of the pocket.

5. Unpredictable screens.

All of those things are huge pluses when you look at the weapons this team has littered across the depth chart.

I can’t wait to see what Arthur Smith dials up when he has a full compliment of weapons, but right now you have to love that he designed a scheme that turned Ryan Tannehill into a guy who went 12 of 16 for 2 TDs and who had three drops!

Also, there is something to be said for his former position group (TE) all showing up very well. Mycole Pruitt bounced back well from a bumpy start, Anthony Firkser looked great and caught a touchdown pass and there were several times where the other guys flashed for a block or a catch.
