Chris Simms: The repeat offender part 1
A younger version of FOX Sports’ Skip Bayless, NBC Sports’ Chris Simms is known for his hot takes and the hot garbage that comes out of his mouth. His quarterback rankings were absolute trash, which is perhaps the goal for a guy who seems to desperately seek attention.
Simms had Mariota ranked among some of the worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL at No. 29. Some of the guys ahead of him were the Washington Redskins’ Case Keenum (No. 28), the Denver Broncos’ Joe Flacco (No. 25) and the Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray (No. 24).
Flacco had lost his starting job in Baltimore to Lamar Jackson (No. 30), who was ranked lower than the former Ravens quarterback. Unproven guys like Murray, New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (No. 22) and San Francisco 49ers signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo, were all ahead of Mariota.
And that was just a handful of the issues with this entire list. Simms even had Indianapolis Colts backup QB Jacoby Brissett ranked ahead of some starters, like New York Giants quarterback, Eli Manning.
Not to mention, when Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner, who actually accomplished something in this league, has an issue with this list, you know there are some problems.
