Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry‘s injury potentially revealed by Adam Schefter.

Breathe a sigh of relief Tennessee Titans fans, it looks like we know the mystery injury for Derrick Henry.

Through the first week of training camp the only information made public on the Derrick Henry injury was that it was a “lower body” injury as per Mike Vrabel. We also heard some rumors and sources say that Henry was seen wearing a boot.

Adam Schefter dug into his sources and (like he so often does) found the answer to the question.

Let’s read into that as optimistically as we can.

So if Henry is going to be sideline for about two weeks and he hasn’t practiced with the team since the first day of practice that means that two weeks (exactly) would put him back on August 8th.

Being a little cautious, let’s say he misses the first two weeks of the preseason and then he practices against the New England Patriots once and then joins the offense on the field for a few series in the third week of the preseason.

That means that while his workload will be limited, it may not be a completely lost preseason for Derrick Henry and he could work with the first team offensive line (with Lewan and without).

I’m all in on that. How much do we really need to see from Henry at this point? Sure he needs to work on his landmarks and figuring out how each individual offensive lineman blocks and opens up space.

However, the guy looked like he was getting a pretty good handle on the offense in December when they were destroying defenses with the run game despite missing Jack Conklin.

While I expect to see Dion Lewis and Alex Barnes get a lot of reps in the preseason, that will seemingly be for the RB2 role for the first week of the season as the Tennessee Titans should have their full stable of running backs healthy barring any additional injuries.
