Bernard Pollard weighs in on Tennessee Titans star left tackle

Former Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard calls Taylor Lewan a liar after PED suspension.

Pollard has never been one to mince words, whether that means saying people are crazy for calling Tom Brady the best quarterback of all time or calling Lewan a liar today:

So. There is a lot to talk about here.

Pollard has always been vocal about his beliefs like I said earlier so he must feel pretty strongly about this to go after Lewan so hard.

He continually points to his contract and how getting popped after he signed the deal is a big issue.

I will say it like this, I don’t know what Tennessee Titans OT Taylor Lewan did or didn’t do. With how transparent he has been on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast about his offseason activities, the changes in his life, his child, and just a laundry list of behind the scenes and personal information, I tend to believe that this is a mistake.

If you have ever taken pre-workout or any supplement, you know that sometimes companies will change the formulas which is why they just don’t seem to be as potent as they were before.

Sometimes they will advertise the changes and sometimes they won’t, so if you have been taking product “x” for four years and have been seeing results consistently why would you change your routine? If that supplement was tested originally and didn’t have a banned ingredient, would you or should you get it tested every single month to make sure that they haven’t changed the formula?

So the idea that he got his contract (nearly a year ago) and then took something different to get better even after he earned his money and was already going to Pro Bowls, seems strange to me.

If you were an athlete at the top of your game and your team just gave you a huge contract, the tendency would be to relax a little bit not to push even harder to outperform that contract. Or at least that is the norm for athletes that we have seen in the past.

Pollard definitely seems to think the Tennessee Titans tackle is lying and thinks that the new money is somehow a factor in it somehow. I think it is more likely that he was taking a new supplement suggested to him by a trainer or someone else in the league and he got popped not knowing what he took.

The problem is that you rarely see anyone say, “Yes, I did take PEDs and I got caught.” Everyone is always the victim so when real victims get caught up in this, we all just hear it as the same background noise.

Lewan has done everything he can to prove that he didn’t willingly cheat, he isn’t hiding behind an agent or a boilerplate statement and he is going out of his way to defend himself more than the normal player would.

Obviously a former player has more insight than I do into what goes on in locker rooms and during offseasons for players, so it is important to note Bernard Pollard’s thoughts even though I don’t personally agree with them.

It is really strange to me that Pollard would go out of his way to criticize another teammate like this without any cause.
