Tennessee Titans injury news is out and it is good news for fans.

Tennessee Titans fans can breathe a sigh of relief because for the first time in a long time, it looks like all of the scheduled starters will be healthy and ready to practice.

Between camp injuries last year and lengthy recoveries, I was prepared for the worst and most conservative approach when this new broke but was very pleasantly surprised.

Per Paul Kuharsky, Jonnu Smith will start the season on PUP and Jeffery Simmons will be on the NFL list.

In a pretty big shock, those are the only names that showed up on those lists (again, this of Paul Kuharsky) despite several minor injuries/recoveries that seemed to threaten players missing at least a little time.

Guys like Delanie Walker, Jurrell Casey, Jack Conklin, Logan Ryan, and Adoree Jackson will all be ready for camp despite only Jackson playing in the last game of the 2018 season.

Also, I was quietly concerned that A.J. Brown’s practice time might be limited by the hamstring injury even though it didn’t seem that serious in OTAs. However, luckily there was no mention of that.

This is big for guys like Walker and Ryan who can get right back in the swing of things. However, this isn’t biggest of all for the battle at right tackle, because if Jack Conklin started missing training camp practices you would really start to wonder if Dennis Kelly didn’t make more sense.

Don’t get me wrong, I am one of the few people that seem to remember how good Jack Conklin was when he was healthy, but Dennis Kelly is rock solid and he is healthy and practicing.

There was no way Marcus Mariota could line up behind a version of Jack Conklin who didn’t finish last season and wasn’t healthy enough for a full training camp and some preseason games.

Tennessee Titans fans can breathe a sigh of relief now that we know the only surprises on the injury lists to start the preseason will be names we had already written in ink.

Update 3:10 PM CST:

Well, maybe the news wasn’t quite as good as we hoped.

Jim Wyatt is reporting that Ryan Succop and Jurrell Casey will join Jonnu Smith on PUP. Still great news for Jack Conklin and Delanie Walker specifically, but two more names added to the list.
