Wes Schweitzer, IOL

You may have no idea who he is, but he started 85% of the snaps for the Atlanta Falcons last year according to OTC.

Falcons fans don’t love him and maybe he never turns into a star, but he has the size that teams covet and he has experience in the NFL. More than that, Schweitzer has an inside man with the Tennessee Titans according to the 2016 NFL Draft retrospectives we all did a few months ago:

"This was a pick of familiarity for the Falcons. Schweitzer’s offensive line coach in college, Keith Carter, had become the assistant OL coach for Atlanta. Schweitzer was added to the Falcons practice squad as a rookie in order to help him developing while moving him from left tackle in college to right guard in the NFL. Schweitzer has started 29 games for the Falcons over the last two seasons, including all 16 in 2017."

Carter like Schweitzer and sees something in him, meanwhile he has the experience to backup guard and tackle based on his time in the NFL and in college. With Nate Davis likely to be the starter at right guard in 2020 and Kevin Pamphile probably moving on to start somewhere else, the Titans will need a backup.

With this move they get a non-sexy addition who hopefully will be a backup, but who has the experience to step in if he needs to and provide a competent replacement.
