Roster Overview

Some general quotes on what the trio’s thoughts on the Tennessee Titans were on a macro level.

"“I think the defense is going to have to carry the team this year…they have some players. Jurrell Casey is a stud, we love what they have in the secondary…its a really good crew that also added Amani Hooker. This defense could be scary.”"

-This is a theme that you are going to see a lot of in this breakdown. They all are really confident in the defense, but in a league driven by offense they are skeptical of just how good the Tennessee Titans can be.

"“I really like their draft, I think they have a lot of rookies who can at least be situational defensive players while they wait for Jeffery Simmons to get back”"

-The rookies get a shout out here and there which is great, it seems like they all have some decent expectations for the roles that Amani Hooker, A.J. Brown and eventually Jeffery Simmons will play this season.

"“How ready is A.J. Brown to come in and be one of the guys one of the targets out of the wide receiver group. How will the run game be between all of these running backs again? I know the offensive line is a pretty good group, they have tight end talent. (Connor)”"

-I don’t really have the same concern they seem to for the Titans WRs. What are the question marks at the position when you have one of the better young receivers in Corey Davis, a proven slot receiver in Adam Humphries and one of the most physical and fundamentally solid receivers from the 2019 NFL Draft class in A.J. Brown.

That isn’t even taking into consideration what guys like Delanie Walker, Tajae Sharpe, Anthony Firkser, Taywan Taylor, and Dion Lewis can do in the passing game.

Also, I don’t really think the team thinks about the running game the same way that they did in 2018. This is going to be the Derrick Henry show featuring Dion Lewis, not a partnership.

"“What will the loss of Matt LaFleur mean for this team, that is a big question mark now that he is the Head Coach of the Green Bay Packers.”"

-Oh, I can answer this one pretty easily I think. The Green Bay Packers seemingly hired LaFleur because he agreed to hire the assistants that the front office wanted/already paid for and because it made since to bring in a young coach who would probably defer to Aaron Rodgers instead of butting heads with him.

As an OC there is no reason to think that losing LaFleur will have any negative impact on the Titans. In fact, it probably makes more sens to have a guy who has seen Marcus Mariota thrive and seen where he struggles all first hand so that he can help make the offense more user friendly.

While no one will say it now, this sure feels like a situation where it is addition by subtraction for the Tennessee Titans.
