Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a very inconsistent quarterback over his career. However, his highs outweigh his low’s. With Fitzpatrick heading into Free Agency, Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson should consider signing him.

Marcus Mariota has been a positive for the Tennessee Titans. However, with injuries he’s absorbed, it’s evident that the Titans can’t trust he’ll be healthy for an entire season.

It’s essential to have a decent backup quarterback on an NFL roster. Jon Robinson decided to sign Blaine Gabbert last offseason. This offseason, there is a better option, and his name is Ryan Fitzpatrick.

For now, Jon Robinson can ease with Mariota and wait till next season to decide what to do with him. But being in situations where Mariota could go down, you must have a reliable option. I think it is clear that Blaine Gabbert is not as good of an opportunity like Ryan Fitzpatrick is.

The matter of the fact is, Gabbert had his chance to prove he could be the Tennessee Titans backup quarterback. Against the Indianapolis Colts, on primetime, in front of a national audience with the chance to make the playoffs in Nashville, Gabbert failed.

Had the Titans had a backup like Ryan Fitzpatrick in this situation, they could have made the playoffs. Even with the bad luck against Andrew Luck and the Colts.

In recent years in the free agency period, Jon Robinson has had multiple chances to upgrade the Tennessee Titans tenfold. Unfortunately for the Titans, Robinson continued to sit back and let other teams in the AFC South take advantage.

Jacksonville stacked up their team, Indianapolis made bold moves, and even Houston made positive acquisitions to help their franchise. Meanwhile, the Titans didn’t do very much to improve their chances to win their division.

This offseason is a make or break year for Jon Robinson to build this team to their potential. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a perfect option to pursue the Titans. Fitzpatrick had impressive in-game numbers when he came in to play for Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That’s all Ryan Fitzpatrick has ever done is be essential in coming for starting quarterbacks who get hurt.

Another positive for Jon Robinson potentially deciding to sign Ryan Fitzpatrick is that Fitzpatrick has been with the Titans once before. With Fitzpatrick in the Music City, this will excite Tennessee Titans fans.

If Jon Robinson wants to make the Tennessee Titans a Super Bowl contending team, signing Ryan Fitzpatrick is critical. The goal for any NFL team is to make the Super Bowl. Signing Fitzpatrick would help the Titans in a big way especially if Marcus Mariota was to get injured again.

For now, all we can do is sit back and hope Jon Robinson makes the right moves. If he doesn’t, his job could be on the line. One thing is for sure. The Tennessee Titans have the potential to be an exciting team to watch in the future. This offseason will define that fate.
