Potential targets for the Tennessee Titans that aren’t getting a ton of hype.

I wrote in an article this week that every single 3rd round pick that Jon Robinson has had since he became the Tennessee Titans GM, has come from the Senior Bowl.

So I thought a watch list for now and for the entire draft season it would be interesting to see if the Tennessee Titans pay especially close attention to these players at Pro Days, the Combine, bring them in for interviews, etc.

But, it isn’t enough to just copy and past the roster, you can narrow it down further than that. Not by need like you would expect, but by school. So far the Titans have yet to select a player from a power-5 school with any of those 3rd round picks. In fact, they have all been from Conference USA.

-Kevin Byard, MTSU (Conference USA)

-Taywan Taylor, WKU (Conference USA)

-Jonnu Smith, FIU (Conference USA)

So I am going to go ahead and put a list of all the non-power 5 players that were in the Senior Bowl, and I am going to highlight all the Conference USA players for emphasis. Also, I didn’t include Notre Dame players because I still consider them in the Power-5 bubble, meaning if they went undefeated there is no way they are getting left out of the playoffs.

One more filter, I took out players that I am 99% sure wont make it to the 3rd round of the draft.

Only three players from Conference USA that are likely to make it out of the top 65. The only one of those players that I saw get real buzz at the combine was Tyre Brady WR, Marshall. He is a two year starter at Marshall who transferred from Miami and posted nearly 2,000 yards as a starter.

He flashed a lot of potential in redzone drills this week and he does have the college production to match that with 17 TDs as a starter. Brady measured in above 6’2 and had massive 10-inch hands and arms over 33.5 inches according to TDN. If he tests well he could be worth a chance in the top-100.

Other small school guys not from C-USA, but that look intriguing to me as top-100 picks right now are: Rock Ya-Sin, Tytus Howard, Anthony Johnson, Andy Isabella, and Sutton Smith.
