The Tennessee Titans have a pretty clear path to the playoffs.

With just two weeks left, the Tennessee Titans have a clear path to the playoffs but they still need help.

I know that we are all keeping pretty good tabs on what needs to happen, but here are the two scenarios the Titans need to be cheering for.

#6 seed

-Tennessee Titans win out
and
-Pittsburgh Steelers lose to either the New Orleans Saints/Cincinnati Bengals
or
-Baltimore Ravens lose to either the Los Angeles Chargers/Cleveland Browns

I think the Titans have a really good shot at going into Week 17 controlling their own destiny. With tough tasks against the Saints and Chargers respectively, the Steelers and Ravens are going to have a tough time winning on the road this week.

AFC South Championship

-Tennessee Titans win out
and
-Houston Texans lose out

This is a long shot, but it seems a little bit more likely after last week. The Tennessee Titans would obviously still have to win out against the Washington Redskins and the Indianapolis Colts. The Texans would have to lose the next two against the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Eagles just beat the L.A. Rams which gives me a huge boost of confidence in their chances this weekend. If the Texans enter Week 17 with a must win game against the Jacksonville Jaguars I think it would be a nightmare.

Given the hate in the AFC South and the fact that the Jaguars are the perfect matchup for the Texans, there is a strong chance that a loss this week could knock the Texans out of the playoffs in the long run.

Here is the crazy thing, if the New England Patriots somehow stumble once down the stretch then the AFC South Champ will likely land the #2 seed and a bye.

So if the Titans win out, then only four things need to happen in the next two weeks for them to  not only make the playoffs but to get a bye which is just baffling.

Who knows what will happen over the next two weeks, but there are two very clear paths to the playoffs. The big question is, can the Titans do their part? If so they should have a great shot and the stadium should be full of fans excited to see this team in what is essentially an extended playoff run.
