What do the Tennessee Titans want to happen this weekend?

With the Tennessee Titans battling it out for a wildcard spot (or potentially the AFC South crown if everything goes right) which non-Titans teams should you be cheering for?

In order of most important to least important, here are the 8 teams you should love this week and their matchups.

Most important matchups:

1. Dallas Cowboys over Indianapolis Colts

-It is a long shot, but if the Colts lose their next two games they could travel to Tennessee with nothing to gain. At 7-8 they would essentially be out of the playoff hunt no matter what and they could decide to rest some starters and look to the future.

An easy matchup in the final Titans game of the season would be a dream and the Titans will hinge their hopes of that on the Cowboys and oddly enough the New York Giants next week.

2. Minnesota Vikings over Miami Dolphins

-The Vikings are facing a lot of criticism, but they are still in the playoffs as of today. Every game is crucial from here on out, and luckily for the Titans the Dolphins are going to have to travel to the cold and try to take those playoff hopes away from the Vikings.

By virtue of that tie breaker from Week 1, the Titans need the Dolphins to lose at least one game down the stretch and this is an ideal spot.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers over Baltimore Ravens

-I don’t think this is going to happen. The Ravens are playing too well and the Bucs are playing too poorly, but a win would be great for Tennessee.

4. New England Patriots over Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have hit a free fall and are now in serious need of some wins to make the playoffs. At 7-5-1, Pittsburgh faces New England and New Orleans over the next two weeks. If they lose a those two games they would fall behind any 9-7 or better team thanks to that tie.

Moderately important:

5. New York Jets over Houston Texans

More from Titan Sized

-The Texans losing would be great news for the Titans, but ultimately most of the focus should be spent on the WC race. If the Texans lose two of their next three, the Titans would get the AFC South crown if they win out, but that has a lot of moving parts.

6. Cleveland Browns over Denver Broncos

-The Broncos are in a bad way in terms of playoff chances, but they are still in it. A Browns win would eliminate them for all intents and purposes, giving the Titans one less team to worry about.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars over Washington Redskins

-The Redskins still technically have a chance to win the NFC East, but a loss to the Jaguars is likely after their putrid offense killed them this past week. If the Jags can muster up another 6-0 type win, then it would hurt their draft position and take the fight out of the Redskins for the Titans next matchup.

Tangentially relevant:

8. Los Angeles Chargers over Kansas City Chiefs

-The good news is, this one is already a win. As the best chance for a team to beat the Baltimore Ravens, the Titans needed the Chargers to be playing for something.

KC had won on Thursday night, who knows if the Chargers would have even played their starters with a wild card spot basically locked up. Now, they are fighting for a real chance at a top seed in the AFC playoffs and home field advantage.

The Chargers should be laser focused on the Ravens next week with some extra days to rest. That could be a huge factor in figuring out the AFC WC race.
