Tennessee Titans would be wise to spend some money on offense this offseason
By Will Lomas
The Tennessee Titans need to keep an eye on offensive free agents.
It is halfway through the 2018 NFL season, but it is already clear what the Tennessee Titans need to be shopping for in free agency this year.
The biggest position of need is obviously wide receiver. Rishard Matthews quit the team three weeks into the season and Taywan Taylor isn’t developing into a starter for Tennessee right now.
Corey Davis has been good when he has been a featured part of the offense, but those weeks are too few and far between. Through almost no fault of his own, the Titans just haven’t given him an opportunity to go down the field and make big plays.

Tajae Sharpe has elevated his level of play and both long and short term he looks like a guy that the Titans should be able to use as a sure handed chain mover.
That ends the list of receivers that have proven roles in this offense and frankly that just isn’t enough in the modern NFL.
At running back, it is time to expect a big shake up. After rumors came out today that Derrick Henry was being actively shopped, the Titans seem ready to make a move sooner rather than later.
You can even add tight end and IOL to the list of positions the Titans will be looking to improve this offseason. So, who are the top targets to look at come March? These are the players I would start watching if I was a Titans fan as they are players who should be monitored closely by this front office.

WR
Golden Tate (slot)
Randall Cobb (slot)
John Brown (deep threat)
Adam Humphries (slot)
Tyrell Williams (deep threat)
Deontay Burnett (possession)
RB
Leveon Bell (bell cow)
Mark Ingram (power back, complimentary to Lewis)
Frank Gore (power back, complimentary to Lewis)
Adrian Peterson (power back, complimentary to Lewis)
Alex Collins (balanced complimentary back)
Jay Ajayi (Not quite sure what he is, but he is talented)
That is 12 players on 10 different teams that the Titans front office should be scouting now that they aren’t actively watching potential trade candidates.
There are a variety of ways this team can be better and they can easily upgrade both positions for a pretty cheap cost, but how dramatically different would this team be with either Bell or Ingram at running back and Golden Tate or Tyrell Williams at wide receiver?
In a year where Jon Robinson will be judged harder than ever before, the Titans need to make sure they have the most talented team they can heading into next season.
