Tennessee Titans have a big advantage today.

The Tennessee Titans matchup against the Baltimore Ravens today.

While both teams boast strong defenses and offenses that thrive when they take shots down the field, there is one area where I believe the Titans have a clear advantage.

This week the Titans best defensive player gets to attack the weakest part of the Ravens offense, when Jurrell Casey gets to match up with the interior offensive line of Baltimore.

Now, I know Marshall Yanda is a very good guard. However, one guard doesn’t make an interior offensive line special. Sometimes, a truly great center can do that, but rarely if ever has a guard been able to do that.

Simply because you know exactly where the guard is going to line up. No matter if they come out in a 5WR set of with a fullback and three tight ends, you know that on nearly every play the guard is going to line up in the exact same spot.

So today, instead of lining up against Yanda the Titans should scheme Casey against Matt Skura and Alex Lewis.

Neither have been exceptionally good this season. In fact the IOL as a whole has struggled up the middle allowing 6 sacks in 5 games from DTs and ILBs alone.

The biggest trouble any single defensive lineman gave the Ravens was Geno Atkins who ended up with two sacks.

The Titans need to take the defensive line concepts that have given the Ravens trouble and combine that with superior coverage on the back end to make this another hard fought game for Joe Flacco.

Baltimore is coming off of an over time loss on the road and now has to come to Nashville and deal with the elements. More than anything the Ravens should be tired, and the Titans have to take advantage of that if they can.

The biggest matchup nightmares for the Ravens should come up the middle and a great day from the Titans best defensive player with some help from guys like Wesley Woodyard, Jayon Brown and Rashaan Evans could be the difference for the Titans today.
