The Tennessee Titans have the answer to Deshaun Watson right in front of them.

It may not surprise you to find out that the Tennessee Titans have an easy way to stop the Houston Texans best weapon, right in front of them.

The New England Patriots beat the Texans handily, mainly by pressuring Deshaun Watson on defense. Deatrich Wise and Trey Flowers combined for 3 sacks and Watson was in a constant struggle.

At the end of the day, Watson completed just 50% of his passes and a garbage time passing touchdown ended up masking what was a terrible day for the 2nd year QB.

It isn’t hard to figure out that the Houston Texans have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, but this tweet sums up exactly how crippling it is for them.

So putting all of that together here is the bullet points you need to know:

-Watson is twice as good when allowed to sit in the pocket and make a throw. He is just outright bad against pressure completing just 3 of 10 this year.

-The Titans did a great job bringing pressure last week even it it didn’t show.

I didn’t think Tennessee did an exceptional job last week bringing pressure, but I think that is because the combination of Ryan Tannehill’s quick passing and the Dolphins offense based around quick plays.

I believe the Texans would love to use Nuk Hopkins on curls as often as they can given his ability to push off at the top of the route and create space. But, if Will Fuller is back I can promise they are going to take some shots deep.

In those situations, you definitely have to make sure that Watson isn’t just sitting back and staring him down.

The good news for the Titans on that front is that, even though Harold Landry isn’t practicing yet Derrick Morgan is getting healthier and Brian Orakpo is working back into regular season form after missing the preseason.

If those two play better combined with some blitzes and help from the backups (Kamalei Correa, Sharif Finch and Aaron Wallace) then the Titans should be able to improve on last week’s 1 sack.

The Titans are facing a borderline must win situation this weekend and Mike Vrabel needs to win this game. Not because he is a bad coach if he doesn’t, but because this is:

-His home opener

-Against his old team

-Vs a team with a clear weakness on the OL, who is replacing their right tackle

-With a healthy defense

There is no excuse not to win this game if you are Vrabel.
