One thing to expect from the Tennessee Titans offense tonight.

Tonight the Tennessee Titans play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the preseason home opener.

After a couple of joint practices, I think we have a good feel for the strengths and weaknesses of each team. For example the Bucs had Mike Evans as a standout and the Titans had Adoree Jackson and Corey Davis both sharing the honors.

So after all that, what do I expect the from the Titans offense tonight.

If I had to put money on something I would bet that the Tennessee Titans top-4 running backs combine for over 200 yards of offense.

While the passing game will be highlighted by fans excited by the prospect of having Corey Davis back, I think the Bucs will get a steady dose of running game from the backs in Tennessee.

Tampa Bay was one of the 10 worst teams in the NFL last year defending the run in large part because of their lack of talent on the defensive line. That is something they tried to rectify in the draft by taking Vita Vea with their first round pick.

With him out, they aren’t quite as stout as they want to be and it will be hard for them to hold up if the Titans can get their zone run scheme going.

Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis will probably combine for something close to 12 carries and a catch or two. Meanwhile, the Titans depth at running back should show up against the backups.

I expect either David Fluellen or Akrum Wadley to have the longest carry of the night for either team, which will probably come some time midway through the second half.

On the second team, there really aren’t any linebackers that most people would even know except for Riley Bullough. The former Hard Knocks star had his fair share of run stuffs in his season, but was notorious for not being able to keep up in coverage.

The Titans depth at running back combined with 2nd string offensive linemen like Corey Levin and Kevin Pamphile, should make for a unit that can push the Titans over that 200 mark by the end of the game.

Bonus: Taylor Lewan gets a penalty

I love Taylor Lewan, but with the disrespect JPP has shown all week combined with his style of play I can clearly see a time where the oversensitive preseason refs flag him for nothing.
