Which Tennessee Titans players did the most for themselves over the weekend.

With a late night scrimmage on Friday and a practice in Nissan Stadium on Saturday, there was a lot of attention on the Tennessee Titans this weekend.

Sunday is a day off for the team and with just four days left until the Titans first preseason game, I wanted to do a check in on which Titans have had the best and worst camps so far.

Stock up: WR Corey Davis/Taywan Taylor

-The biggest issue facing Davis in practice was that he hadn’t shown that he could consistently be on the field and making big catches. Each practice he seems to stack up more receptions and fewer drops. If he needs to take a day off here and there, everyone should be fine with that as long as he makes it to the field healthy and in a position to make plays.

Taylor’s rise has been more steady. After everyone assumed it would be a battle between he and Tajae Sharpe for snaps as the WR3 when Rishard Matthews comes back, it seems like that battle was over before it started.

He was a huge part of the practice on Friday and showed up again on Saturday. People had concerns about his ability to master the playbook after some hiccups last year, but he has looked great so far.

Stock down: WR Tajae Sharpe

-It isn’t Sharpe’s fault, he really has been playing pretty well but the drop in his stock is more due to everything around him. With Rishard Matthews starting to run routes with the coaches before the start of practice and with Taylor and Davis dominating first team reps, his role in this offense if everyone is healthy looks minimal.

Stock up:  Harold Landry

-After a good Friday night, Landry reportedly beat Dennis Kelly like a drum on Saturday. His bend and speed are showing up time and time again and Mike Vrabel raved about how he is always improving even when it may not be obvious to us and him when he is going against Taylor Lewan.

With Brian Orakpo taking the weekend off and Derrick Morgan taking Friday night off, Landry has taken more snaps than any other EDGE this weekend and has looked good by all accounts.

Stock down: S Demontre Hurst/Kendrick Lewis

-Like Sharpe, this isn’t really their faults. The Titans lost Johnathan Cyprien to a season ending ACL injury and their response was to give Dane Cruikshank snaps with the first team defense and to sign Kenny Vaccaro which isn’t a ringing endorsement.

It doesn’t mean that one of them won’t make the team, but if the first four are Byard, Vaccaro, Cruikshank, and Trawick (ST) then how many safeties can they really keep?

Stock up: Deontay Burnett

-Deontay Burnett is making more and more plays every day. This team is looking for depth at WR and someone to play the slot, and if I was trying to project who fits that role best it would be Burnett. Terry McCormick described his play best in this tweet:

Stock down: Luke Stocker

-Stocker dropped a deep pass to stall what was a beautiful night from the first team offense on Friday and it just seems like this been happening every day now. It was addressed after practice and Vrabel said that his job was to primarily drop, but if there are tight ends that can do both then it puts his job in real jeopardy.
