New info on the Tennessee Titans offense.

The Tennessee Titans offense is going to be hard to write about for a while. Not because they lack talent, but because it is hard to pick up such a nuanced offense in such a short amount of time.

On top of that, this isn’t the terrible DB group like it was three years ago, so everything is much harder. Still, these are the notes on what we know from today.

More from Titans News

-Rishard Matthews is officially on the PUP list. This is such a weird situation, I don’t know if he is injured, out of shape or something else but no matter what happened it is just something weird to monitor.

-Dion Lewis has been a lot more visible the past few days. One of the interesting things he has been doing is that he has been lining up at wide receiver a lot. On top of that he had one of the most interesting plays of the day:

-Taywan Taylor may be a real factor this year. I really like him but I was hesitant because I didn’t want to fall in love with him over a few camp days, but man he is starting to string together some really good practices and I think he is going to be on the field a lot during the season.

-Marcus Mariota is good even when he is bad. Today’s practice was up and down, but he had a big 30 yard play and no interceptions. So while there was no touchdown bomb there was no pick either. This offense is going to take some time, but Mariota is the perfect QB for the job.

-With Luke Stocker, Jonnu Smith and Phillip Supernaw all missing practice, it was Anthony Firkser taking some reps with the first team and doing pretty well. It is good to see people competing for time and getting it.

-Corey Davis was back after missing yesterday with a scheduled day off. I think it is a great idea to let him rest given how hard he plays and how much the Titans need from him this year. No one is winning games on July 30th, there is no reason to beat your players to death and everyone knows.

-Blaine Gabbert has been drawing rave reviews about his arm strength and his mobility. That is great news for Titans fans who finally have some decent insurance behind Marcus Mariota.
