Las Vegas shockingly low on Tennessee Titans.

Vegas came out with their playoffs odds and the Tennessee Titans are much lower than I expected.

Here are the tiers as I see them based off the odds listed here by OddsShark:

The favorites:

New England Patriots

-1500

Pittsburgh Steelers

-550

Minnesota Vikings

-260

Philadelphia Eagles

-260

Green Bay Packers

-170

L.A. Rams

-170

L.A. Chargers

-145

Jacksonville Jaguars

-140

Houston Texans

-135

New Orleans

-130

So somehow, the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are ahead of the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South.

I can understand the hype on Jacksonville a little bit (forgetting for a second that they did get swept by the Titans) but the Jaguars have to face a 1st place schedule with Blake Bortles at QB and they are worse at wide receiver with virtually no upgrades this offseason.

The Texans make absolutely no sense to be ahead of the Titans though. Deshaun Watson had a great flash, but he now is behind an offensive line that may be the worst in the NFL.

Can he repeat the success he had with a worse team in front of him and no real additions? I just don’t see it. Keep in mind, he is coming off of a serious knee injury and it will be the 2nd time in 4 years that he has been knocked out for the season with a knee injury.

I just don’t know how Vegas can put that much faith in that team.

The potential sneak ins:

Atlanta Falcons

+115

Kansas City Chiefs

+120

Carolina Panthers

+130

Baltimore Ravens

+135

San Francisco 49ers

+135

Dallas Cowboys

+145

Oakland Raiders

+165

Tennessee Titans

+165

So these 8 teams are the teams that Vegas thinks can sneak into the playoffs, but they are on the outside looking in. Despite only a handful of teams having more wins than the Titans in the last two years, Tennessee is on that list.

I don’t see this at all, the Titans improved on every level of the defense while also improving at HC, OC and DC. Throw in someone like Dion Lewis is has the potential to be a surprise star on this team and I can’t figure out how the Titans would be the 3rd most likely team to make the playoffs in their own division.

The teams that should maybe start looking ahead to the draft

Seattle Seahawks

220

Detroit Lions

260

Denver Broncos

275

Indianapolis Colts

325

New York Giants

325

Washington Redskins

375

Chicago Bears

400

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

425

Buffalo Bills

450

Cincinnati Bengals

450

Cleveland Browns

600

Miami Dolphins

600

New York Jets

600

Arizona Cardinals

800

I won’t talk too much about this group, I just wanted to round out the list so you could see where every NFL team stood.
