What will this Tennessee Titans team look like after cuts?

The Tennessee Titans will still probably make a move or two, but right now this roster is pretty set.

One thing that is interesting about projecting a roster this year is that the Titans have an entire new coaching staff, which means they have different preferences on how many players to carry at each position.

So, to get the best idea of how each new coordinator divided his assets last year, I went to Ourlads and looked at the rosters in November.

Interestingly enough, both Dean Pees (Ravens) and Matt LaFleur (Rams) carried 25 players on their side of the ball. Take those numbers and add in the kicker, punter and long snapper and you get to a perfectly balanced 53-man roster.

So with that in mind here is my projected roster:

QB (3): Marcus Mariota, Blaine Gabbert, Luke Falk

-Gabbert and Falk will compete for the QB2 job to make sure that the Titans don’t have another Matt Cassel in Miami-type game.

RB (3): Derrick Henry, Dion Lewis, Akrum Wadley

-The first UDFA on this list, Wadley is a solid RB that is smooth in between the tackles even though he lacks top end burst or speed to the edge.

WR (6): Corey Davis, Rishard Matthews, Taywan Taylor, Tajae Sharpe, Michael Campanaro, Deontay Burnett

-The top 4 are written in stone, but there will be a competition at the bottom. If the Titans keep 6, I expect Deontay Burnett to be included because of his ability to make the big catch in college and Campanaro is a solid ST guy.

TE (4): Delanie Walker, Jonnu Smith, Luke Stocker, Phil Supernaw

-This one was hard. To get to 25 on each side I had to include an extra WR or TE and Supernaw’s ability on special teams gave him the slight edge.

OL (9): Taylor Lewan, Quinton Spain, Ben Jones, Josh Kline, Jack Conklin, Dennis Kelly, Corey Levin, Kevin Pamphile, Xavier Su’a-Filo

-The Rams kept a ton of offensive linemen last year and the Titans went out and brought most of these guys back or back in. This would be a deep group.

DL (6): Jurrell Casey, Bennie Logan, DaQuan Jones, Austin Johnson, David King, Antwaun Woods

-A pretty solid rotation, though an injury or two could really hurt this unit.

EDGE (5): Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan, Harold Landry, Aaron Wallace, Josh Carraway

-If everyone is healthy, I think Dodd will be out and Wallace/Carraway will be in. A sneaky player to watch is Sharif Finch from Temple who could earn a spot.

LB (5): Rashaan Evans, Wesley Woodyard, Jayon Brown, Will Compton, Daren Bates

-Pretty solid two-deep here. Evans/Compton are the classic run-stuffers, Woodyard/Brown are more rangy cover guys. Bates is a star special teams player.

DB (9): Adoree Jackson, Logan Ryan, Malcolm Butler, Kevin Byard, Johnathan Cyprien, LaShaun Sims, Brynden Trawick, Dane Cruikshank, Kalan Reed

-Lots of depth here, versatile players like Cruikshank and Reed really help open the roster up for good depth because of their ability to jump from safety to CB while also playing special teams.

ST (3): Ryan Succop, Brett Kern, Beau Brinkley

-Great three-man group.
