Jon Robinson has built a hell of a team in the Tennessee Titans.

When it comes to team building, I don’t think anyone currently in the NFL has done as much with as little as Jon Robinson has with the Tennessee Titans.

Don’t get me wrong, there was definitely some talent on this team when he joined. Talent on the EDGEs as well as Taylor Lewan and Marcus Mariota, made the Titans an appealing job.

However, outside of that was about it and the rest of the team had to be remade from the ground up, and quickly before a bad OL and lack of weapons got Marcus Mariota killed.

More from Titans Draft

Fast forward to 3 years later and the Titans may have one of the most talented teams in the NFL from top to bottom. If you don’t believe me, look at where Mike Clay graded them after the first round of the draft:

Since this, the Titans have upgraded 3 of the 4 weakest position groups on the roster (QB2, EDGE, safety) with real talent not just bodies like other teams.

More from Titan Sized

Before the draft, there were only 3 AFC teams in front of the Tennessee Titans: Pittsburgh, New England and Los Angeles Chargers. With the Titans being clustered right around Pit and LA, this could be the push they needed to get past those two.

With Tom Brady a year older and with Gronk chronically hurt, it is only a matter of time before the two HoF pillars holding that team up start to crumble. So from top to bottom, is there a chance that the Titans are near or at the top of the AFC in terms of talent?

I think you can make that case and with maybe one more year or one move at EDGE or WR, they could clearly be in contention at the top.
