Tennessee Titans should be proud of their winning record.

For the second straight year the Tennessee Titans finished with a 9-7 record.

While this team tends to stumble with bad opponents, there is a misconception that they can’t beat good teams. People who say that don’t know what they are talking about.

I don’t want to attack anyone individually, this is more of a statement on larger, non-team specific media groups in general. Most of them have no idea who is playing for the Titans right now or what this team looks like.

Honestly, I don’t blame them that much. It is easy to say that you are watching every team when you just google the highlights and look at the box scores.

Throw in sites like PFF and Football Outsiders to give you some individual players to single out as “good” or “bad” and you can pretend to know a lot about the NFL.

So when someone says that the Titans will struggle this week because of LeShaun Sims (who has been on IR for two week) or that they haven’t beaten any good teams, just know that you are smarter than they are.

Just to back this up, here is great chart of the 32 teams in the NFL and their records against winning teams:

The L.A. Chargers who everyone screams should be in instead of the Titans won just 2 of 7 games against winning teams.

Meanwhile, the Titans stand at 4 wins against winning teams, which is as much as the Jaguars, Chiefs and Eagles. Their winning percentage against winning teams is the 3rd highest in the NFL behind just the Patriots and Steelers.

So the next time someone tells you that the Titans can’t beat winning teams or that they haven’t preformed as well as some of the other big name teams point them to this article and allow them to educate themselves.
