The Tennessee Titans should use their most most underrated rookie more this week.

Tennessee Titans fans focus a lot on how great Adoree Jackson is or how much more they want to see from Corey Davis. Heck, we even see flashes of Jonnu Smith and Taywan Taylor from time to time.

The guy we don’t talk about enough is linebacker Jayon Brown, but that may all change this week.

In case you don’t know, Brown is the rookie from UCLA who the Titans drafted in the 5th round. He has been in on nickel packages mostly because of his athleticism, but he is no slouch in the run game.

If I was going to give his high-end comparison, I would probably say he plays most like Ryan Shazier, but without the potential as a striker. He is a sideline-to-sideline player that isn’t afraid to be on an island with athletic playmakers.

That’s where this week comes into play. In case you don’t know the Kansas City Chiefs have three playmakers: Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Kareem Hunt.

Hill will be someone the CBs have to deal with and Hunt will be someone that the defensive line needs to slow down before he gets going. The real wildcard is Travis Kelce because on some days you can argue that he is the best TE in the NFL.

When talking about Kelce, Mike Mularkey said this:

I think that is a terrific idea. Brown and Byard are the only non-CBs that I would trust to cover Kelce.

Hill and Kelce make up over 50% of the Chiefs receiving yards and the Titans have to have a plan for those two. A great pass rush would help, but not if it involves leaving Kelce covered by Avery Williamson.

If the Titans are going to win this game on the road they need to be smart and use their talent to the best of their abilities. I think this is a small, but significant personnel decision that could end up being a deciding factor in the game.
