Tennessee Titans should try to build an even better front office.

For the first time in a long time, the Tennessee Titans have a very smart GM leading the team. With Jon Robinson in charge, Tennessee shouldn’t be afraid to add other strong voices to the front office.

Today the New York Giants fired Jerry Reese. You know, the architect behind two Super Bowl wins. He also know exactly what Tom Coughlin looks for in building a team, something he will be doing in Jacksonville.

Before I start this, understand that I think Reese should be hired exactly like the Atlanta Falcons hired Ruston Webster. That is to say that he should be an assistant GM or a similar title where he can offer his input and evaluation, but not usurp Jon Robinson.

Before we go any further, let’s take a look at the talent that Jerry Reese has brought in over the last four years:

2014: Odell Beckham (2-time All-Pro), Weston Richburg, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (All-Pro 2016),

2015: Landon Collins (All-Pro)

2016: JPP (extended), Janoris Jenkins (All-Pro), Olivier Vernon (All-Pro), Damon Harrison (All-Pro), Sterling Sheppard (All-Rookie team)

2017: Evan Engram

Alright so let’s just break that down. That is starters at receiver (x2), center, cornerback (x2), safety, EDGE (x2), nose tackle, and tight end.

Of the additions, he brought in 6 players that made either 1st or 2nd team All-Pro.

So before you throw records in my face or anything, know that a halfway competent coach could have taken a team with six All-Pros and a decent QB to more than a 2-win (so far) season.

Imagine if the Titans had a four year stretch like that on top of the players they already had. Just imagine if they added one All-Pro at each position where Reese gave the New York Giants two!

If you do that, the Titans would add an All-Pro caliber player at WR, CB and EDGE. You are telling me that Tennessee doesn’t need the expertise of someone like that?

On top of all that, he is a guy from a small town in Tennessee. This wouldn’t be some foreign place to him, he grew up here just like Jon Robinson. You are telling me he wouldn’t love working with another Tennessee guy and building a champion just a few hours away from his house?

Coming home is an underrated feeling. To get that feeling while helping to build something (that is already halfway there) would be a great story for both Reese and the people of Tennessee.

Fans should be clamoring for this move and they need to start making noise now instead of later because he shouldn’t be available long.
