Tennessee Titans: Week 6 vs. Indianapolis Colts Injury Report

HOUSTON, TX - OCTOBER 01: Marcus Mariota
HOUSTON, TX - OCTOBER 01: Marcus Mariota

As the weeks keep moving forward, the Injury Report keeps growing. Heading into Monday Night Football, the Tennessee Titans have an opportunity to get an extra rest day this week for their players to heal.

Marcus Mariota – Quarterback – Hamstring

Number one on the list is by far the most important player on the current Tennessee Titans roster. There is a chance Marcus Mariota plays against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. He is a true game time decision after missing Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins. The Titans offense truly missed Mariota. Matt Cassel is not going to inspire anyone with his play and if the Titans want a shot at the playoffs, they will need a healthy Mariota. The good news is Mariota has participated in practice on a limited basis. According to Jim Wyatt of Titansonline.com, Mariota has not been able to give a full sprint in practice yet. The extra day will certainly help Mariota heal up for a matchup with the rival Colts.

Taylor Lewan – Tackle – Knee

Before anyone freaks out over the Taylor Lewan injury, he is most likely going to play. Lewan is by far the toughest guy on the roster and seemed to shrug off any question of not playing against the Colts. It is important to note that Lewan may not be as mobile because of the injury though. The Colts defense may try to expose Lewan’s injury in the game, but the offensive lineman will surely not let that affect his grit and determination.

Corey Davis – Wide Receiver – Hamstring

He is still out. Corey Davis has all the potential to be one of the next great wide receivers in the NFL; the problem so far has been health. At this point, the timetable looks to be before the bye week in Week 8, according to Jason Wolf of the Tennessean. If that is the case, he could return next week. That is not a guarantee, but any news on a quick timetable is decent news. Hopefully he will be back soon because the Titans definitely need him, as per our own Luke Worsham. Ideally, Davis can put this in the past and start to produce like we expect.

Johnathan Cyprien – Safety – Hamstring

Cyprien looks to be out for the long haul. There have not been any clear updates, but it looks like Cyprien will not be back until after the bye week. The big-hitting safety would be a welcome addition to a Titans defense that has struggled a bit of late. Hamstring injuries are never easy to predict, which is probably why the team does not seem to have much information on it.

Those are the main injuries of concern for the week. Two will definitely be out with no real timetable to return and the other two are questionable. Mariota will probably try to give it a go on Monday night. He is a fighter that surely will not want to miss a winnable matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
