A look ahead to some options for the Tennessee Titans in the 2018 NFL Draft.

When I see an issue I just want to fix it as soon as I can, and that goes for the Tennessee Titans as well.

So when I see my team get walloped, I can’t help but look to potential solutions to the issue.

I have already posted an article on who I would start looking at to be the Titans next DC, but maybe that isn’t the whole problem. Maybe there are still holes on the roster that fans over looked.

So I cranked up Fanspeak again to get a Titans specific 2018 NFL Mock Draft going. I decided to try to hit three rounds because I think the Titans have four needs and I’m not sure I know enough about this year’s draft yet to go four rounds deep.

These are the options I came up with in the top 100 picks.

1st round, pick 26: Bradley Chubb EDGE, NCST

The Tennessee Titans just need more from the pass rush. Whether that means bringing in a new DC, a better NT, more DBs, etc. they have to find a way to manufacture sacks.

Chubb has had a fantastic career so far. In the three years he has been a starter he has tallied 20 sacks in just 31 games putting him at a nice pace.

THE Justis Mosqueda who is draft twitter’s expert on pass rushers (rightfully so) said this about him today:

Kerry Hyder was huge for the Lions last year and if he was healthy this year that defense would be amazing between he, Zettle and Ziggy Ansah.

2nd round, pick 58: Brandon Facyson

I don’t love Facyson’s lack of production in terms of interceptions, but he is a 6’2 CB that has affected over 36 passes over his career.

This defense has a versatile slot cornerback in Logan Ryan and a smaller CB who is showing flashes in his rookie year with Adoree Jackson. What you don’t have is a really solid CB to deal with bigger WRs.

With Facyson on the team you have three high quality young CBs that should make an impact immediately.

3rd round, pick 90: Quinton Flowers QB, USF

The Titans need something different at backup QB and Flowers is that. He is a very capable runner with nearly 3,000 yards in his last two years.

He isn’t limited to just that though, he has a 140+ QB rating in his last three years and has never had double-digit interceptions.

If I am drawing up a reasonably priced backup QB, I want a mobile player who doesn’t turn the ball over. Flowers looks like he could be that guy and he gives you a potential trade chip down the road if Mariota’s health concerns disappear.
