Who should Tennessee Titans fans today in college football.

The 2018 NFL Draft isn’t something Tennessee Titans fans should be thinking hard about right now.

However, some NFL fans don’t necessarily watch college football. To incentivize that (because I think college football is awesome) I want to recommend a player and a matchup for you to watch.

So as a Titans fan, the player I would watch today is:

Minkah Fitzpatrick DB, Alabama vs Ole Miss 9:00 EST

I think Fitzpatrick is the best safety or cornerback in this class and there isn’t anyone particularly close.

Fitzpatrick a chess piece similar to Kevin Byard in that he can play in man coverage against tight ends, take a receiver up the seam or read the QB and make a play from the safety position.

  • The reason I think you should watch him is because he has been very quiet this year and with the stigma that Alabama players get coming out, maybe a quiet year will lead to him slipping through the cracks to the late first round.

While I firmly believe that the Titans need more pass rush, Fitzpatrick is a Jon Robinson type of player.

-A three year impact special teams player that does everything from return to rush the punter.

-He is already tied for 3rd all time in the SEC in terms of interceptions returned for touchdowns.

-Leader in interceptions in the SEC last year with 6 as a true sophomore.

-If he stays healthy he will have started or played in more than 40 games in just three years.

He is an experienced winner that makes huge plays and already knows how to play special teams. The Titans love players like that and he would add more teeth to a defense that could have Kevin Byard, Logan Ryan and two 1st round picks at DB with this addition.

If he can preform against the passing game of Ole Miss and show off in a pretty big SEC game then this could be the game that makes you a believer in Fitzpatrick as DB1.
