Like every week in the NFL, the Tennessee Titans had some injuries last week. All in all there, haven’t been too many new additions to the injury list though. Let’s take a look at the Titans Injury Report.

Jurrell Casey, Defensive Tackle (Back)

Casey has missed his second practice in a row because of a back issue. Hopefully, this problem does not affect him going into Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Casey is no doubt one of the leaders on the defense and it would be a huge loss if he cannot suit up on Sunday. With that being said, it sounds like this is a precautionary move to make sure that he can play on Sunday. Only time will tell if Casey has a serious back issue or just slept wrong.

Johnathan Cyprien, Safety (Hamstring)

The injury to Cyprien is no real surprise at this point. He injured his hamstring during the season opener against the Oakland Raiders. Coach Mike Mularkey expects Cyprien to be out for “a few weeks”. Needless to say, he did not practice at all this week. Look for Da’Norris Searcy to get the start for Cyprien this week and for the foreseeable future. Searcy was a starter last season and will surely fill in nicely while Cyprien recovers.

Tye Smith, Cornerback (Hand)

Former Towson product Smith has missed every practice this week. He has a broken hand and is probably not going to play this Sunday. He suffered the injury during the game against the Raiders this past weekend. Smith had one tackle in the game and probably would not have received much time this week against the Jaguars anyway.

LeShaun Sims, Cornerback (Groin)

A positive note from this injury report is that Sims has practiced in full this week. Meaning, he should be able to give it a go on Sunday against the Jaguars. He has a groin injury that kept him out of the season opener. Sims was expected to be the starting cornerback opposite Logan Ryan this season. He may be thrust right back into that role, but probably will be eased back into the defense after Adoree’ Jackson got the start last weekend. Either way, Sims will surely get plenty of playing time now that he is healthy.

Wesley Woodyard, Linebacker (Illness)

By all accounts, Woodyard will be fine on Sunday. He did not practice on Wednesday because of an illness, but was a full participant Thursday. He probably just had a bug and will certainly be able to go for the game on Sunday.
