Four Players to Watch in Week One

We are finally just a few days away from watching games that actually count. The Tennessee Titans will be taking on the Oakland Raiders in one of the most intriguing games of Week One.

Of course, with it being the first week of the season, we are all excited with high expectations, but each week there will be questions heading into the game from injuries to question marks at positions. Here are four players to watch in week one of the season.

More from Titans News

Demarco Murray

Demarco Murray has been battling a hamstring injury since the beginning of training camp and had just six carries, coming all in week three of the preseason.

It will be interesting to see how much of a workload the Titans give Murray this week. We could see Derrick Henry getting an even split of carries considering he received a lot of time with the starters since the beginning of camp.

However, the one area we should certainly count on Murray being on the field is during obvious passing downs. Murray is outstanding as a blocker and a great receiver out of the backfield.

Throughout the preseason, Derrick Henry showed he still has a lot of work to do on his pass blocking.

Corey Davis

The fifth overall pick is another player who suffered from an injury in training camp and didn’t play one snap all of preseason.

According to Mike Mularkey, Corey Davis will only play in “certain situations” on Sunday. It is most likely that Rishard Matthews, Eric Decker, and Taywan Taylor see the field the most.

Without a doubt, it would be encouraging to see Corey Davis make the most of his limited time and make a big play or two.

Adoree’ Jackson

There is a very good chance that Adoree’ Jackson could now have a much bigger role than originally planned due to LeShaun Sims‘ groin injury.

Sims is expected to start opposite of Logan Ryan, but could be limited on Sunday.

Jackson’s first game could be a huge test for him covering the likes of Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. He was abused in his start against the Bears in week three of the preseason, but also was in the right place on some of the catches made against him. He should also receive more help than he did in that preseason game.

Marcus Mariota

He played in the first three preseason games, but this will be the final hurdle of his rehab from the fibula injury.

Week one will be the first time we see Marcus Mariota play a full game and not have to worry about him getting hurt in the preseason, such as him playing into the fourth quarter against the Bears.
