What you didn’t hear about the Tennessee Titans.

We all saw today that the Tennessee Titans faced the Carolina Panthers without their starting QB and middle linebacker.

Well don’t worry, the Titans heard about that and decided to play shorthanded too.

Here is a list of the Tennessee players that didn’t play today:
WR1: Rishard Matthews

WR2: Corey Davis

WR3: Eric Decker

WR5: Tajae Sharpe

RB1: DeMarco Murray

That is a staggering list of talent to play without. Essentially half of the Titans offense was on the shelf today and they still marched up and down the field.

Now, more eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that, but did you notice this?

Apparently the Tennessee Titans started benching their defensive starters just a few plays into the game?

Impact players like Jurrell Casey, Derrick Morgan, Logan Ryan, Brian Orakpo, and Kevin Byard came off the field after just a few plays.

This came after Karl Klug was also scrapped for today after practicing some this week.

So the Titans essentially had Marcus Mariota throwing to his WR4 (Taywan Taylor), WR6, WR7, TE1, TE2 and RB2 the whole time. The only impact starter in their with him at the skill position was Delanie Walker.

Even through that Mariota managed to dissect a well coached and talented Carolina Panthers defense and do enough to come off the field when they were up 10-0 early.

Marcus Mariota looks like he is in midseason form in every sense of the phrase and you hope that this is a sign of things to come.

No matter what else happened today you can look at Marcus Mariota leading a depleted group of skill players down the field against the Panthers and be VERY impressed.
