Where does NFL.com rank the Tennessee Titans?

We went over Bleacher Reports NFL power rankings and where the Tennessee Titans fell last week. Now it is time to check out where NFL.com has them.

Elliot Harrison has been up and down on the Tennessee Titans in the past year. In fact, after the Jacksonville game last year he had the Titans all the way down at 18.

So, where did Harrison put Tennessee with a healthy Marcus Mariota and a good offseason?

NFL.com: 11

“There are two things worth knowing about the Titans that hover over every team in the AFC South: Tennessee is the steadiest outfit, with no GM, head coaching or major personnel losses. They have the best healthy quarterback in the division. Now, throw in an accomplished wideout in Eric Decker who, uh, slightly upgraded his work environment this offseason, and you are looking at the 2017 AFC South champs. Until Andrew Luck riddles the secondary for 385 and three tugs in Week 6 or 12. Sorry. Go with the previous sentence.”

So a little bit of a backhanded review from Harrison.

One one hand he praises the stability of the organization and talks up the passing offense. On the other hand he hedges his bets by talking about Luck throwing on the pass defense.

I am not sure it will be as easy for Luck to throw on the Titans as he thinks given the second line of pass rushers Tennessee boasts.

Kevin Dodd is healthy and now pairs with Erik Walden who had 10 sacks last year to back up Derrick Morgan and Brian Orakpo respectively.

On top of that, the Titans cornerbacks look much better with Logan Ryan and Adoree Jackson looking like very good additions. LeShaun Sims rounds out the group to give them some size at the position.

Having said all that, you have to be excited to see the Titans listed in the top 12 and leaders of the AFC South. When was the last time you ever saw that before a season? Never right?

Between the downfalls of the last five or six years before Jon Robinson and the Peyton Manning era before that, this is rare and a great place for the Titans to be. In just a few days we all get to see just how far they have come.
