Tennessee Titans sign Adoree’ Jackson, have 6 of 9 rookies under contract
The long wait to sign all of the draft picks continues, as per usual.
The Tennessee Titans have come to terms with first-round cornerback Adoree’ Jackson of USC. Jackson’s deal comes out is estimated to come out to around $11.3 million total value. Jackson is now under contract for the next four years, with a team option for the fifth year.
Taken with the 18th overall pick, his selection came as a bit of a surprise for those expecting the Titans to snatch up O.J. Howard or Reuben Foster at that spot. Cornerback was arguably the top need for the Titans heading into the draft. While many might have preferred going with a safer, more traditional cornerback prospect like Tre’Davious White, Jackson will provide value in a variety of ways.
From day one, Jackson will spring life into a dull return game that hasn’t provided a touchdown since 2012, when Darius Reynaud was the main guy. Slated to start on punt returns, Jackson is going to be fun to watch with the ball in his hands.
His development as a cornerback will be intriguing. A multi-sport athlete in college, Jackson never had time to focus solely on honing his craft at one of the toughest positions in football. With that in mind, he still picked off four passes in a tough conference during his final season with the Trojans.

If anything, Jackson will bring speed and explosiveness to the team in any capacity. Jackson’s college career ended with 15 total touchdowns of his one. Six receiving scores, four kick returns, four punt returns, and one pick-six. The guy is a playmaker, and he’ll be a treat to watch in two-tone blue.
It’s good to see the front office moving methodically to get their rookies under contract, especially after we had to endure Ruston Webster and company’s ways of operating. We all remember the Marcus Mariota Offset Language debacle of 2015. It’s nice to have a general manager who knows what he’s doing.
First-round wide receiver Corey Davis, third-round wide receiver Taywan Taylor, and fifth-round linebacker Jayon Brown are the remaining rookies yet to be signed. There isn’t any rush, nor will there be a Joey Bosa situation, but all three should sign soon enough.
