The Nashville Predators in are in the Western Conference Final (even though Nashville is not really West). Which Tennessee Titans players would be good hockey players?

We are getting towards the time in the NFL offseason where there is not a lot going on. The draft is over and most of the fun free agents have been signed. At this point, we are just itching to start watching some meaningless preseason games. Unfortunately, the best we can have is dreaming about the Tennessee Titans and their games for next season. Many of you are probably paying attention to the Nashville Predators and their quest for Lord Stanley’s Cup. Let’s combine both the teams in Nashville and take a look at which Titans players would fair well playing hockey for the Predators.

Taylor Lewan

Is there any player on the Titans roster that makes more sense to be at the top of this list? Taylor Lewan is the definition of nasty. He is an in-your-face offensive lineman that is not worried about getting his nose dirty. Let’s not forget that Lewan wanted to bring fighting into the NFL. He would be the perfect grinder in the NHL. It is easy to see Lewan as a fourth liner that you bring into the game to do some serious enforcing. He would not be much of a scorer, but when you have a guy as willing as Lewan to get his hands dirty, it does not matter how much he scores.

DeMarco Murray

There has always been the idea that if an athlete is good at one sport they may be a natural at all other sports. DeMarco Murray has a nose for scoring and that would not change playing hockey. Murray is a speed demon on foot, and he definitely would be one on skates as well. Granted, speed on foot does not always translate to speed on skates, but it sure does not hurt. Murray also is a natural scorer. He would fit right in as a left wing in the NHL. This would be an excellent spot for Murray because he could use his speed to get to the front of the net and tip in shots from the outside. Easily, Murray would be a top line force that would work hard on the boards and maximize his speed in front of the net.

Delanie Walker

The goaltender for the Titans would undoubtedly be Delanie Walker. The Titans tight end catches everything that Marcus Mariota throws his way. Why wouldn’t he be able to do the same in net for the Predators? Walker is a big body that would fill the goal and he has great reflexes. He may not be Pekka Rinne, but Walker would probably make a good showing as a goaltender. Walker is also a great blocker. Goaltenders use blockers on their arms to block the puck. That may not be the same type of blocking, but they probably have to do with each other right?

Derrick Morgan

What makes for a good defender in the NHL? Well they need to be able to hit, have decent speed, and strength. Derrick Morgan has all of these intangibles. He is a big, strong guy that has speed for his size. He is also not afraid to hit someone due to the fact that he is a defender in the NFL. Morgan also has a nose for playing defense. He can stop players from scoring regularly and would fit right in next to a star defenseman like P.K. Subban. No one would  see those two guys standing in front of goal and expect to score on that goal. Morgan is an excellent athlete and would probably be able to transfer his skills onto the ice as a defender.

Overall, it is fun to see what positions the Titans players would play in the NHL. Leave comments below on who you would think would be the best hockey player on the Titans roster.
