My keen insight into the Tennessee Titans 5th round pick.
Between Jonnu Smith and Jayon Brown, the Tennessee Titans are really keeping fans searching the internet to figure out their thoughts on players.
I don’t know enough about Brown to really be offering opinions so I will throw it to Lance Zierlein who gets paid the big bucks to break down players for NFL.com.

In his scouting report, he says:
“…Brown’s speed ability to play on special teams will give him a fighting chance for a roster spot, but he lacks the functional strength to become anything more than a sub-package cover linebacker.”
At 6’0, 231 lb. Brown isn’t exceptionally big. However, what he lacks in size he makes up for in play speed. He is a sideline to sideline player with great coverage ability.
In fact, referencing the PFF Draft guide, Brown gets a shout out for his ability in coverage:
“Beyond this group of four, there is some situational talent in UCLA’s Jayon Brown, who is excellent in coverage,”

The top 4 being the ILBs who were going to cost a top-2 round pick: Reuben Foster, Zach Cunningham, Jarrad Davis, and Raekwon McMillan.
That is some pretty high praise for the Tennessee Titans linebacker to be the 5th ranked linebacker just outside of that group, primarily for your coverage ability.
If he is really a great cover linebacker like PFF, Zierlein and Dane Bruglar all say then I love the fact that the Tennessee Titans saw the run on linebackers coming and made a move to get their guy.
