What is the difference between Marlon Humphrey and Marshon Lattimore?
This is the time of year where NFL Draft rumors really start kicking off. People are getting information (whether true or not) from agents, players and those that work in NFL buildings.

One I recently heard that shocked me a little bit is that the Tennessee Titans may like Marlon Humphrey more than Marshon Lattimore or any other CB in this draft class (see tweet below).
I would normally dismiss this, but Campbell and those at Walter Football did have the first real connection that I saw between the Tennessee Titans and Jack Conklin last year. That makes me think this is more than just a little smoke.
So, the question is should the Tennessee Titans like Humphrey more than Lattimore? Here are some thoughts.

Experience on a playoff team
It is weird, but the Tennessee Titans have drafted more players from the CFB playoffs than any other team in the NFL. They clearly have a preference in talent from big name, successful teams and they don’t get more successful than Alabama.
Humphrey has played in 29 games in just two years with Alabama and has shown consistency over that time that you can’t say for Marshon Lattimore who is just now putting it together.
3-cone
You may not know this, but the New England Patriots love cornerbacks with good 3-cone times. While Marshon Lattimore didn’t run a 3-cone at the combine, Marlon Humphrey did and ran it blisteringly fast at 6.75.
For a 6’0+ cornerback that is very impressive. That height and athleticism are something that could really intrigue the Tennessee Titans.
Injury history
Marlon Humphrey has been incredibly healthy despite being an Alabama player which generally comes with some extensive shoulder injuries or something painful.
On the other hand, Lattimore has struggled with hamstring injuries for the last three years even though he played a ton of snaps last year. If you are picking in the top-5 then these are the things that can move a player out of that range for you.
All these things are great, and they come on top of both players being tall, aggressive vs the run and adequately productive on the ball.

So if the Tennessee Titans put an emphasis on these differences instead of things like upside and top-end athleticism then they could choose Humphrey.
Ultimately this may come down to would you rather have Marshon Lattimore in the top-5 or Humphrey at 18 as well as a pick from trading out of the top-5. I can see it being a compelling argument even though I prefer Lattimore myself.
