Tennessee Titans connected to a potential star cornerback.

I am not going to lie, this is exactly what I hoped would happen as the offseason progressed into draft season. The Tennessee Titans have strong interest in Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

This is the quote from Matt Miller that is really what started the smoke yesterday:

“The top five picks in the 2017 draft are starting to come into focus. Myles Garrett, barring something unforeseen happening in the next four weeks, will be the No. 1 overall pick. The San Francisco 49ers are, according to a scouting source with the team, in love with Reuben Foster and Leonard Fournette if Garrett is gone. On the back end, the Tennessee Titans are said, by a scouting source, to be set on taking Ohio State’s Marshon Lattimore with the No. 5 pick. If picks No. 1 and 5 are set, it becomes easier to figure out Nos. 2, 3 and 4.”

More from Titans Draft

So, that is pretty huge. However even more smoke started to come up after these tweets the same day from ESPN’s Paul Kuharsky:

So the same day that this news breaks that the Tennessee Titans really like Marshon Lattimore, they are also at a private workout with a mystery player? That is very suspicious.

  • This is about the time last year that Matt Miller shifted his thinking from Jalen Ramsey or Laremy Tunsil, to trade down with anyone who will listen. Which is significant because this may be the time of the year where he really works his sources and gets info on what a team wants.

So there is a lot of smoke that makes this rumor plausible. Were the Tennessee Titans having a serious workout with Marshon Lattimore, who they already are leaning towards taking at 5?

I don’t know, but if there is one cornerback that deserves to overcome the Tennessee Titans and Jon Robinson’s formula for CBs, it is Lattimore.
