One last look at a pure BPA 2017 NFL Mock Draft for the Tennessee Titans.

It is here, free agency (tampering) is finally here.

For the Tennessee Titans this may be huge, or more likely they will take a back seat and let value come to them instead of jumping to fill needs.

More from Titans Draft

With moves to be made, this may be the last time that I can do a mock draft where the Tennessee Titans have two 1st round draft picks. Clearly though it will be the last one I can do without a firm grasp of what they will be doing in free agency.

So, let’s use Fanspeak and figure out just where the talent is in this draft one last time. Also, this time I am doing this in the mindset of what I think Jon Robinson will do, not what I would do.

Here is a link to every pick made in this mock draft.

  • 1st round, pick 5: Jamal Adams S, LSU

I really thought about a lot of different players here but ultimately settled on Adams. I don’t really know if a safety is going to go this high, especially if they aren’t defined by their ability to cause turnovers in the passing game.

However, Adams is a very good athlete with all the intangibles you want in a player. He is a prototype Jon Robinson player:

    -36 games started

-Recognized as an All-SEC DB in two consecutive years

-Reportedly a very hard worker and a leader in practices

-Does whatever you ask him to

I think this fit makes more sense than maybe the positional value did, just like last year. However, how many teams in the top-8 wish they had gotten an All Pro offensive tackle instead of what they did get?

1st round, pick 18: O.J. Howard TE, Alabama

There is going to be a really good player fall here, especially if some of the offensive linemen get forced up into the top 15 because of the lack of talent there.

Howard is an elite prospect to me at the tight end position. He can block, he is athletic, he has a good feel for the game, he played all four years in college, and he is a winner.

While I don’t care about all of that, he will check a lot of boxes off for a thorough GM like Jon Robinson.

3rd round, pick 83: Chidobe Awuzie CB, Colorado

A lot of people like Awuzie as a potential safety convert, which is great. However he did some really impressive stuff as an aggressive cornerback in that defense for four years and got progressively better.

After measuring in at 6’0 and putting up some impressive numbers at the combine, the athleticism seems to match the tape and it should push him into Day 2.

3rd round, pick 100: Derek Rivers EDGE, Youngstown State

He is a force player. That is really all you have to say, and if you don’t know what that means you need to go check out that link. It is fascinating and the numbers suggest that he once he hits his peak he should be averaging more than five sacks per year based on history.

That may not seem like a lot, but it is more than twice as many sacks as any EDGE rusher ont he Tennessee Titans roster last year not named Brian Orakpo or Derrick Morgan.

4th round, pick 125: Chad Hansen WR, Cal

People are really hot and cold on Hansen. I really like what he can bring to an offense, especially if you don’t try to change him too much. He is a boundary receiver who can come in and make some plays on some 50/50 balls and give you great production for this pick.

If Jon Robinson really is about value at wide receiver instead of breaking the bank or trading for one, then this is a guy he could really like.
