Let’s face it, at this time of the year every season every Tennessee Titans fan has their eye on individual goals rather than the team as the whole.

More from Titans News

Well, the time has finally come where the Titans are relevant again in December. While all of us have our eyes on the importance of next week, there are some interesting milestones that Titans players have a chance to reach.

So, let’s take a second and recognize players on a Pro-Bowl pace.

  • Marcus Mariota: 35 TDs

Right now Marcus Mariota sits at 25 TDs with four games left to play this year. During that span, he faces the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Houston Texans. As a group those defenses are allowing nearly 1.5 passing touchdowns per week.

If Mariota can continue to outperform his peers (4th in the NFL in passing TDs) then that is a very attainable goal.

    Brian Orakpo: 10 sacks

Man, this felt a lot closer when he was on his early season tear. Despite that, I still think Orakpo has at least one sack left in him over the next four weeks. If Dick LeBeau continues to lay back and allow teams to move down the field, then he might not. However, if he attacks to try to give the young corners a chance at some errant balls, this is a real possibility.

    Derrick Morgan: 10 sacks

Morgan has played like a man possessed for streaks this season. Often he will forklift offensive linemen and drive them straight into opposing QBs laps.

While he doesn’t do a great job bending around or disengaging from blockers, his aggressiveness at leverage/power should get him the 2 sacks he needs.

    Rishard Matthews: 10 TDs

Matthews is not only on pace to be the first Tennessee Titans wide receiver to lead this team in receiving yards since 2013. But, the more important stat is the 10 touchdowns. If Matthews had 10+ TDs in a season for the Titans, he would be the first players since 2004 to do that (Drew Bennett).

He would join only 8 other players in Oilers/Titans history to hit that mark.

    DeMarco Murray: 11 rushing TDs

It is weird how rarely the Titans have had individual standouts at wide receiver or running back. If Murray hit this number he would be 1 of only 4 running backs in Titans/Oilers history to have both 1,000 yards and 11 or more rushing TDs.

Murray would join Earl Campbell, Eddie George and Chris Johnson as the only backs to do that.
