Is this a dream Titans 2017 NFL mock draft?

You will probably see me bash a lot of 2017 NFL mock drafts on this site.

For one, most people don’t really understand what Jon Robinson is looking for in players. For example, a cornerback that avoids contact and who gets into fights with teammates is not going to be high on Robinson’s board.

So, imagine my shock when I saw an NFL mock draft that really left me excited for all four of the Titans picks in the first three rounds. That mock belongs to Luke Easterling and I encourage you to go check it out now.

    • 1st round, pick 6: Mike Williams WR, Clemson

    Some people think that he may be the only true #1 WR in this draft, and if Jon Robinson agrees then he needs to jump on Williams immediately.

    If you liked Dorial Green-Beckham’s fit with the Titans and were sad to see him go, then this is the perfect thing for you because he is…well just better all around. He may be a hair shorter, but he uses his body to keep defenders at bay, he runs good routes, and he is a key cog in an offense that has really been disappointing this year.

    1st round, pick 12: Quincy Wilson CB, Florida

    You know Wilson right? He is the one CB from Florida the Titans could draft.

    Wilson is big (listed at 6’1) and physical during routes. Not only that, but he can break up or pick off passes as well as anyone in this league and for a long time (maybe even still) when targeted, he has more interceptions and deflections than passes allowed.

    3rd round, pick 70: Marquis Haynes EDGE, Ole MIss

    Haynes is a hard hitting EDGE player who would be a great backup for Brian Orakpo. Like Kevin Dodd this year, they could start him off by teaching him one specific position. He could play off the ball and at ILB some like Brian Orakpo does, and he could be a strict rotational guy in year one.

    Haynes is sort of a prolific pass rusher, just two career sacks behind Myles Garrett and four behind Derek Barnett for the active SEC leader.

    3rd round, pick 76: Jordan Leggett TE, Clemson

    This could be the Titans Hunter Henry.

    Listen to this, the Titans get a TE in the third round who is projected to be:

    -6’5, 258 lb.

    -Run a 4.73 40-yard dash

    -Is on pace for 80 catches, 1,000+ yards and 16 TDs in his last two years at Clemson.

    For reference, those combine numbers are nearly identical to Hunter Henry, whose last two years of stats (88 rec., 1,250 yards, 5 TDs) are not too different from Leggett.

    Also, Leggett (like Henry) gets to come in and work opposite a Pro Bowl tight end and learn the ropes of the NFL.

    It probably wouldn’t be a perfect scenario, but the Titans need another vertical TE who can block and they would get that here by also taking the BPA.
