Tennessee Titans 2017 NFL mock draft
By Will Lomas
The Tennessee Titans have all eyes on the San Diego Chargers. However, on a nice Saturday afternoon your eyes should be on college football.

The more I dig into this class, the more I see two clear locks in the first round. Both of these players in the first round are highly productive and both are new fits to the Titans on these mock drafts.
See who I landed using the On the Clock mock simulator.
1st round, pick 9: Jourdan Lewis CB, Michigan
I may be giving the Titans the best CB in the class with this NFL mock draft.
Lewis is amazing and no one has really caught on yet. He is so impressive and physical at the catch point and he almost always gets his hands on the ball to disrupt it, which is huge to Jon Robinson.
One reason why the Logan Ryan is a starting CB for the New England Patriots was because of how impressed that front office (including Jon Robinson) was in his ability to break up passes.
Jourdan Lewis is tied for 13th all time with 31 pass break ups and he needs just four more to move to 5th all-time. He also has 6 career interceptions on a defense where teams rarely try him.
The Titans CBs are better than I thought going into the season, but do you ever see the ball in the air and think, “Alright, this could be a big play for the Titans?” Neither do I. Here’s hoping Jon Robinson looks to change that early in the draft.

1st round, pick 15: Corey Davis WR, Western Michigan
Before you complain about this mock draft pick, go watch Davis right now.
Did you do it? Did you see that he is a legit 6’3 210+ lb.? Did you know that he has had over 940 yards in all four of his collegiate seasons? Did you know that he is on pace to have more receiving yards than anyone in NCAA history?
Alright good, now that yo know that how can you see the Titans passing on him with their second, first round pick? He fits all the parameters, tall, thick enough, fast, and insanely productive.
3rd round: Soloman Thomas DL, Stanford
While he is listed as a DE or an EDGE, he is really a down lineman in a 3-4 defense in the NFL.
Thomas is one of the two players who hit the requisites for All-Pro thresholds according to Jim Cobern’s outstanding metrics. This would mean that he would likely slide in to the starting 5-tech opposite Jurrell Casey and DaQuan Jones could focus more on NT where I think he is probably a better fit.
In a 4-3 look, he could slide to DE where he plays in college. That would give the Titans this package:
DL: Derrick Morgan, Jurrell Casey (3T), DaQuan Jones (1T), Soloman Thomas
LBs: Brian Orakpo (SAM), Avery Williamson (MLB), Wesley Woodyard (WLB)

3rd round: DeDe Westbrook WR, Oklahoma
The Titans have their WR1 in Davis. They have their #2 in Rishard Matthews. They have their rotational outside guy/slot guy in Tajae Sharpe. Now they need a speed element to really force a defense to cover the full field. Enter Westbrook.
Westbrook isn’t a common name, nor should he be. He has just 1,909 receiving yards at Oklahoma in the last two years. However, 1166 of those have come this year and many of them on passes where he just blew by his defender.
He has six games this year where he has 7 catches or more AND averages more than 18 yards per catch. Throw a random carry ever other game, and you have a dynamic playmaker.
One of the other big reasons I picked him is because he is an explosive return man with 4 punt returns for 79 yards and a touchdown, and with 4 kick returns for 151 yards. That sort of ancillary benefit is something that Jon Robinson will be looking at with this bonus pick.
