According to an outbreak of rumors, it seems like the San Francisco 49ers are trying to trade their roster to really completely start their rebuild.

With Joe Staley and Torrey Smith aparently on the chopping block, I would guess that no one is really safe except for a select few recent first round draft picks on the defensive line that Chip Kelly has ties too.

Speaking of which, Kelly is another huge reason to expect trades. In Philly he made a ton of moves when he got control of that roster showing that if he doesn’t see you as a fit it doesn’t matter if you are Jeremy Maclin, you aren’t “necessary” to his success.

So, with that in mind let’s see if the Titans can poach some of these players from the 49ers.

  • Tramaine Brock CB

Currently PFF’s 32nd best cornerback, Brock would immediately come in and be the Titans best corner according to the independent site.

After coming into the NFL as an UDFA, he has had back to back good years and posted three interceptions last year. He can be a very nice addition to this team that shouldn’t have a hefty price tag.

    Antoine Bethea S

He deserves a mention here because I think he is an ideal candidate to be moved with the talent that team has in the secondary and his age.

I don’t think he fits with what Jon Robinson wants to do with this team, but I could see it for a quick fix if he thinks this team has a shot at the playoffs.

    Torrey Smith WR

The Titans NEED speed at wide receiver so badly. The tough thing about Smith is that if the Titans did want to jump in, it may be a bidding war.

With so many other teams driving the price up, it seems odd for someone like Jon Robinson to put the biggest offer on the table. UNLESS he says that he will match any offer in terms of the round of the pick, and since the Titans probably won’t have a great record the 49ers take the chance that the Titans will finish poorly.

    Nick Bellore LB

Maybe my favorite player on this list in terms of potential trade options. Bellore isn’t someone that you hear about every week, but do you know where he thrives? Special teams.

In 2014 he was part of PFF’s All-Pro Special Teams selections, and this is what nj.com writer, Dom Cosentino said about Bellore when he left for the 49ers:

“Bellore made his bones and kept winning himself a roster spot for his work on special teams, for which he was one of the team’s top tacklers. The Jets thought enough of Bellore to sign him to a restricted free-agent tender that paid $1.4 million in 2014. “

The Titans desperately need help on special teams, and if Antwon Blake gets exposed Sunday at CB, he doesn’t have a leg to stand on based on his special teams play this year. That could be a move that the Titans take a long hard look at after Thursday night.
