Tennessee fell short on another come from behind victory against the Houston Texans, and end up in a three way tie for last place (or second place if you’re a positive thinker) in the division. Here are the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly game notes.

More from Titans News

The Good.

• The secondary finally stepped up. Jason McCourty had an interception, ripping the ball away from DeAndre Hopkins. Perrish Cox went up high and came down with a pick also against DeAndre Hopkins.

• Although his number didn’t get called much, Kendall Wright looked explosive off the line of scrimmage, something this receiver core has been lacking.

• Brain Orakpo continued his domination by recording a sack, which brings his total to four in four games.

The Bad.

• Penalties. Tennessee committed 11 penalties for 93 yards. That’s almost an entire football field.

• In the first half, the team was clueless as to how to stop tight ends.

• The offensive line looked decent, but Mariota was still under pressure a little too often.

The Ugly.

• Jack Conklin went down momentarily, but was able to return.

• Special teams allowed Will Fuller to return a punt 67 yards for a touchdown at a very critical moment in the game.

• Marcus Mariota’s interception was nowhere near the intended Delanie Walker and hit a Houston Texans player right between the numbers of his jersey.

At the end of the day, I feel penalties and simple errors cost the Tennessee Titans this game. We’ll have our rematch in week 17; the last game of the regular season which has the possibility of being meaningless or it could be the most important game of the season. But let’s face it, that game is at home and for some reason the Titans play much better on the road.
