The Tennessee Titans have a tough matchup today against the Oakland Raiders. While they aren’t the Carolina Panthers, they have some great pieces including an elite-level edge rusher named Khalil Mack who just happens to rush against right tackles.

That’s right, Jack Conklin will have to face Mack early and often today, which will be the hardest test he will face as a rookie until J.J. Watt.

  • For those that don’t know Mack is an outstanding run defender who also dabbles as a pass rusher with an NFL 2nd-best 15 sacks last year. He is a freak and he is the best power speed to power rusher in the NFL in my opinion.

However, Jack Conklin has looked pretty good the last two weeks. After a missed assignment in Week 1 that resulted in a pressure, he has been rock solid as a pass protector and had to deal with a talented collection of defensive linemen last week.

While all eyes will be on the battle of the young quarterbacks, don’t be surprised if much of that matchup is dictated by the line play on both sides rather than what happens with the receivers.

Jack Conklin will have he toughest matchup to date, and that could either end in silencing a lot of doubters, or giving them even more fodder.
