As of this moment the team only has 89 players and is allowed to sign one more player.
Johnson spent the majority of his career playing for division rival Houston Texans, where he gave the Titans a fit twice a year.

FanSided
Last year Johnson signed with another division rival in the Indianapolis Colts. It was clear he had lost a step and was ultimately cut after not living up to expectations.
For this could be a low risk high reward type deal. Yes, he’s clearly lost a step, but he could fill Harry Douglas’ role as the veteran and contribute on the feild more.
Johnson could still be used as a rotational player, and could you imagine a goal line set with Andre Johnson, DGB, Justin Hunter, Delanie Walker, and Derek Henry?

Speaking of Hunter this move could possible put a end to his time in Tennessee as Andre could be the Titans “other big receiver”. I believe a Johnson signing would be a good thing. Not only is he a veteran presence, but he has the same body type of DGB and could be a good mentor to him especially.
